Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial

It is the third tallest memorial in the United States and was declared a national monument on July 4, 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The monument is in commemoration of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's victory over the British fleet during the War of 1812.
